A study in cherry blossoms
In 2019 I was fortunate enough to embark on a second journey to Japan, where I had the chance to witness the breathtaking beauty of the cherry blossoms in full bloom.
The cities were transformed into a sea of soft pink hues as locals and visitors alike gathered beneath the cherry trees to cherish the fleeting splendor of the blooms.
I felt compelled to capture these precious moments, as the cherry blossoms only bloom for a fleeting 14 days each year. The atmosphere was truly magical, granting me a new and unique perspective on the beauty of Japan.
Faceless Project
As part of my Photography Intermediate class at the Berkeley Extension, I embarked on a creative project to explore the world of portraiture with a unique twist.
My goal was to capture the essence of my subjects, not only through their physical appearance but also through the objects they chose to represent themselves. By obscuring their faces, I aimed to challenge the viewer's perception of identity and provoke a deeper understanding of the individuals behind the image.
The project was not only challenging but also incredibly fulfilling. I explored my love for portraiture while delving into the question of who we are when we can't see someone's face.
San Francisco's Love Letter - Mixed Media
While working through Photography Workshop at the Berkeley Extension, I challenged myself to try and unique project that combined my passions for photography and embroidery.
I captured iconic San Francisco landmarks, such as the Painted Ladies and the Golden Gate Bridge, and printed them on deep matte paper in a postcard size. To add a personal touch to my photographs, I incorporated my newly re-discovered love for embroidery by adding intricate metallic gold thread around the silhouettes and elements of the picture.
This project was an opportunity for me to test myself, both by using my embroidery abilities in a new medium and by taking different types of pictures than I am accustomed to. I hope the final result is an interesting and captivating composition that adds a three-dimensional element to the photographs.
Landscapes
I love to travel and see different cities and parts of the world. I always try to take my camera with me and capture different kinds of land and cityscapes on my trips.
